Contributor Bio(s): Ravvin, Norman: - Norman Ravvin is a fiction writer, critic and teacher. His published work includes the novel, Lola by Night, and the story collection, Sex, Skyscrapers and Standard Yiddish. His essays on Canadian and American literature are collected in A House of Words: Jewish Writing, Identity, and Memory. He is the editor of Not Quite Mainstream: Canadian Jewish Short Stories and co-editor of The Canadian Jewish Studies Reader. He is chair of the Concordia Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies at Concordia University.Simon, Sherry: - Sherry Simon is a Professor of French at Concordia University. She was co-editor of the Quebec cultural magazine Spirale for ten years and directed the interdisciplinary doctorate in Humanities program at Concordia University from 1995 to 2000.Anctil, Pierre: - N' a Qu'bec, Pierre Anctil a obtenu en 1980 un doctorat en anthropologie sociale du New School for Social Research, a New York. Apres huit ans pass' a l'Institut qu'b'cois de recherche sur la culture et apres avoir compl't' de 1988 a 1991 un post-doctorat en 'tudes juives a l'Universit' McGill, il a occup' a partir de 1993 divers postes dans la fonction publique qu'b'cois, dont au ministere des Relations avec les citoyens et de l'Immigration. Depuis de 2004 a 2008 il 'tait directeur de l'Institut d''tudes canadiennes a l'Universit' d'Ottawa. |
