Philip K. Dick (1928-1982) was a writer of extraordinary vision and imagination whose works reflected a strong interest in metaphysics, theology, and speculative politics. In his work, the individual is often pitted against authoritarian governments or monopolistic corporations. He also drew from his own experiences of altered states, paranoia, and mystical reveries. In 2007, Dick became the first science fiction writer to be included in the Library of America series. In addition to his dozens of published novels, he wrote over 120 short stories, many of which appeared in science fiction magazines. At least eight of his stories have been adapted for film.

Frank Herbert (1920-1986), winner of the Hugo and Nebula awards and a #1 New York Times bestselling author, was born in Tacoma, Washington, and worked as a reporter and later as an editor for a number of West Coast newspapers before becoming a full-time writer. His first science fiction story was published in 1952, but he achieved fame more than ten years later with the publication of "Dune World" and "The Prophet of Dune" in Analog. The stories were amalgamated in the bestselling novel Dune in 1965.

Simon Vance is an award-winning actor and an AudioFile Golden Voice with over forty Earphones Awards. He has won thirteen prestigious Audie Awards and was Booklist's very first Voice of Choice in 2008. He has narrated more than eight hundred audiobooks over almost thirty years, beginning when he was a radio newsreader for the BBC in London.

Barbara Rosenblat, one of the most awarded narrators in the business, was selected by AudioFile magazine as one of the Golden Voices of the Twentieth Century. She has received the prestigious Audie Award multiple times and has earned fifty-four AudioFile Earphones Awards. She has also appeared in film, television, and theater, both in London's West End and on Broadway.

Katherine Kellgren has appeared onstage in London, New York, and Frankfurt. Her work includes the role of Laura in a regional production of The Glass Menagerie and appearances on Comedy Central. She is an Audie Award and AudioFile Earphones Award-winning narrator of audiobooks and has also received the Peabody Award.

Gregory Itzin is an American film and television actor. He is best known for his role as President Charles Logan in the series 24, a role for which he was twice nominated for a Primetime Emmy. He has had appearances in a number of television's most popular shows during the span of his career, including, Matlock, ER, CSI, Friends, The West Wing, and three different Star Trek series. He's also had roles in numerous films including, Adaptation, The Ides of March, and Lincoln. Most recently he's had recurring roles in The Mentalist and Covert Affairs.

H. G. Wells (1866-1946), born in Bromley, Kent, England, was apprenticed to a drygoodsman and a druggist before he made his way to the Royal College of Science where he studied biology. Known as the father of science fiction, he was also a prolific writer in other genres, including contemporary novels, history, and social commentary. As a spokesman for progress and peace, his middle period novels (1900-1920) were more realistic and covered lower-middle-class life, suffrage, and the emergence of feminist ideals that pushed against the limits set by male-dominated society.

Fritz Leiber (1910-1992) was equally adept at writing science fiction, fantasy, and horror. His works were honored with the Hugo, Nebula and World Fantasy awards, and he was named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He also received the Gandalf Grand Master Award for fantasy writing.

Nick Sullivan has worked extensively on Broadway and throughout the United States. His television credits include 30 Rock, The Good Wife, All My Children, and all three Law & Order series. He has recorded hundreds of audiobooks, is an Audie Award winner, and has received numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards.

Robert Fass is a veteran actor and twice winner of the prestigious Audie Award. He has earned multiple Earphones Awards, including one for his narration of Francisco Goldman's Say Her Name, which was named one of AudioFile magazine's Best Audiobooks of 2011.

Stephen Thorne trained at RADA and played several seasons with the Old Vic Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and London. He has worked extensively in radio, with over two thousand broadcasts for the BBC, including Uncle Mort in the Radio 4 comedy series and the part of Treebeard in The Lord of the Rings. His television work includes EastEnders, Boys from the Bush, Death of an Expert Witness, and David Copperfield.
