All of our bargain books are brand new, perfectly readable and represent a tremendous value! The bargain books are, however, publisher overstocks and remainders that TRW purchases at deep discounts. As a result, they may have a small mark through the UPC bar code or a small mark on the side of the book. This is simply to mark the books so they cannot be sent back to a publisher. Because of this, bargain books are non returnable to TRW unless they are damaged. Please consider this before ordering.

Pudge's dad might love being on the ocean and taking care of wildlife, but Pudge would rather be playing World of Warcraft. When he meets an intriguing girl through the game and gets caught playing WoW during school, Pudge is suspended. Now he's forced to join his dad at work surveying whales. When they spot a mother whale tangled in a fishing net, Pudge has to put his real-world survival skills to the test.

Fourteen-year-old Austin's devotion to World of Warcraft doesn't impress his whale-tracking biologist father. But "Pudge" gets some points with a WWI propaganda project and his heroism on a fateful whale-tracking trip (intended as punishment). Episodic chapters and direct first-person narration support struggling readers, but didacticism abounds. Animal lovers lured by the series title will be disappointed: the whale appears only near book's end. Copyright 2016 Horn Book Guide Reviews.
