All of our bargain books are brand new, perfectly readable and represent a tremendous value! The bargain books are, however, publisher overstocks and remainders that TRW purchases at deep discounts. As a result, they may have a small mark through the UPC bar code or a small mark on the side of the book. This is simply to mark the books so they cannot be sent back to a publisher. Because of this, bargain books are non returnable to TRW unless they are damaged. Please consider this before ordering.

Keeping track of all the fascinating baseball facts and statistics can make your head spin faster than a curveball. You hear about blazing speeds (the average Major League fastball is 92 miles per hour), huge numbers (Barry Bonds hit 762 home runs), and powerful dynasties (the New York Yankees have won the World Series 27 times).

Engaging infographics relate facts and key concepts about baseball, from how pitchers throw a curve ball to the crucial timing of a home run. Detailed "data art" allows readers to visualize important baseball concepts and explore notable aspects of "America's Favorite Pastime." The vibrant infographics on each spread appeal to struggling readers and help them analyze and interpret baseball information and statistics.

Although there is a paragraph of text on each page, the colorful and instructive infographics (datelines, graphs, charts, etc.) constitute the main narratives of these broad introductions to four major sports, providing unusual statistics and science-based explanations. While pages are cluttered and sometimes hard to read, reluctant readers may find the visual approach appealing. Reading list, websites. Glos., ind. Gr 3–5—Lerner keeps the ball rolling with these books (previous series include "Super Science Infographics" and "Super Social Studies Infographics"). As with previous titles, these are closer to attractively presented factoids than true infographics. However, there is plenty of fun material for sports fans (diagram of a baseball, player sizes over the years), and these bright, well-designed offerings are a cut above most athletic-oriented titles.
