Publisher Description:
Who settled in deserts and why did they stay? What about the Arctic or the Great Plains? Who Lived Here? answers these questions by comparing and contrasting the way people lived in various environments over the course of decades and even centuries. Why did people settle in these environments, some of which are friendlier than others? How did the environments' physical features impact people's daily lives? The series also explores how people changed the environment over time. Features include maps, infographics, timelines, and simple primary sources.
