Socks and her daughter Zoe are two cats living with a loving family, but they weren't always so lucky. Before they were adopted, they lived at an animal shelter with other cats and dogs.

Zoe doesn't understand what it means to be adopted, so she asks her mom to explain. Socks tells her how their family could have picked any pets at the shelter, but decided to care for and love them. She and Zoe realize how special they are because their family chose them.
