Publisher Description:
ACT, Inc. makes the ACT. So every person who wants to prepare the ACT should buy one book called "The official ACT Study Guide". "The Real ACT Prep Guide", which includes many questions of ACT types. After that or during the same time, you may buy some reference books like this book to obtain more chances to practice the questions of ACT types. The ACT score is one of five main factors that universities or colleges look at when they consider an application. They look at applicant's GPA, special activity, application essay, and letters of recommendations. In the Mathematics Test section, there are 60 mathematics questions in total. The total of the time length is 60 minutes. The contents of the questions on the ACT Mathematics Test are drawn from the six categories: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Plane Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry. Among the 60 Mathematics Test questions, there are 42 question from algebra and 18 questions from Plane Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry. The ACT tests are scheduled 6 times in September, October, December, February, April, and June each academic year. Each ACT test is always on Saturday. There is no any ACT test in July and September. The ACT online registration is available at www.actstudent.org. The explanations of this book primarily use the logical steps to let users easily memorize the methods of solving questions. The essence of mathematics is logic. Human thinking naturally accepts the formula of "because" and "therefore". Hence, using mathematically logical steps to solve questions directly is in harmony with the natural function of human brain. Furthermore, it is helpful for memorizing because what you need to remember are the mathematically logical steps, which is refined and easily to be memorized, instead of the mixed explanations of English and math that are difficult to memorize. To save readers' time, this set of books uses the method, at the solution part, of completely replicating the original questions. The purpose of this design is to save time for readers from flipping back and forth through the pages to see the accurate descriptions of the original question. Even though the cost for the books will increase with such design, namely, it will cost you more, yet, it saves you enormous and precious amount of time.
