Publisher Description:

Addresses climate change and its consequences. - Publishers Weekly

A group of animal friends discover that much of the plastic we use ends up cluttering the ocean. (Plastic Soup, get it?) They discuss it simply enough for children to grasp and then share some creative ways to reuse trash and to limit our use of plastics. A simple but cute informative story. - Richmond Public Library

The animal friends are spending the day at the beach. Frog jumps in the water and comes up with a torn plastic bag on his head. Fox thinks Frog looks like a sea monster But the plastic bag isn't the only thing that floats in the water. Why is there so much plastic in the sea?

A simple and colorful picture book to introduce children to water pollution and little changes that can make a big difference. For children ages 5 years and up.

  • Contributor Bio(s): Engels, Andy: - Andy Engel has been professionally occupied with climate adaptation and sustainability for years. His knowledge and experience made him realize that change is needed to improve our quality of life. It is better to start with that message early, he says, because 'children are the adults of the tomorrow'. From that conviction, Andy writes playful children's books together with Judith Koppens. In this way he wants to show them that children can change something big by doing something small and easy.Koppens, Judith: - Judith Koppens has been an author and illustrator for many years. Children are her most important source of inspiration. Their enthusiasm and honesty are always part of her work. Judith lives in the Netherlands and works as a teacher at an elementary school.Talsma, Nynke Mare: - Nynke Mare Talsma was in born in Delfzijl (the Netherlands) in 1975. She studied at the Art Academy in Kampen with specialisation 'children's book illustration' Since 1999 she works as an illustrator of children's books and educational books.
