He is also a politician, a past president of the San Francisco School Board and City College, and an accomplished explorer, retiring last year as the president of the world wide Explorers Club headquartered in NY City. Alan Nichols has traveled and explored extensively in Chinggis Qa'an's old empire in central Asia and has led four Mongolian Expeditions, and nine prestigious Explorers Club flag expeditions. He was the first person to bicycle the entire 10,300 mile silk web (Silk Road to us) - from Istanbul, Turkey to Xian, China. And he has found the tomb of Chinggis Qu'an. hidden for some 750 years. Alan's Chinggis Qa'an Tomb research will be presented in a new book to be to be released by Regent Press."
