Publisher Description:
This is a journey through Bolan Pass from south to north, i.e from Sibi to Quetta. Some photos however in the last part are of a return journey from Quetta towards Sibi. The Bolan Pass was the southern invasion route of North India from Afghanistan. It was more difficult to traverse due to the arid zone south of it known as Kachhi.Bolan Pass was used as main invasion route of the private English East India Companys invasion of Afghanistan in the First Afghan War.Bolan Pass as seen a lot of turbulence since 2002 when an armed insurrection started in Baloch parts of Pakistani Balochistan. The Pass also houses one of the most notorious British colonial Jail known as Mach Jail. The southern entrance of the pass is close to the famous Mehergarh ruins of an ancient civilization.
