Publisher Description: Men of Concrete is a historical and pictorial essay of the cement industry in Concrete Washington from the turn of the century until it's demise in 1970. Mainly, it's a collection of photographs of the many colorful workers by my father and grandfather. Also included are historical artifacts of the cement plant operation, area history, plant news flyers, and numerous photographs (200+) of today and yesterday. I wanted to share these items, especially the photographs, with everyone. I hope the people of Concrete, and the relatives and descendants of the Men of Concrete (and a few women also captured through the lens) enjoy this book. The artifacts were to good to leave buried in my closet. |
