Queen Leah is an African-American fairy tale. It is the story of a poor, black southern girl who learned to love herself as well as diverse people. She descended from African ancestry, but she had to overcome illegitimacy, poverty and a poor parental relationship in order to reach her goals. All people have fairy tales, epics, legends, stories and folklore of the exploits and deeds of their ancestors. Queen Leah is such a story; it allows children of African ancestry to realize that we live in a world of possibilities, but that we have to work to prepare ourselves for success. Some of us put limitations on ourselves and others and ridicule dreamers because they are different, but we need dreamers to guide us as we look within ourselves and make our dreams become realities.
