Publisher Description: Provides comment on the first of the three primary sections of Kant's Critique; the analytical, the dialectical, and the methodological. The analytical section runs from Kant's Introduction to nearly the end of the Analytic of Principles, and is concerned with the nature, foundations, and the limits of empirical knowledge. The author does not include the Prefaces, since Kant wrote them after he finished the entirety of the Critique. Rather than a simple rehash of the original, this volume is written to facilitate the understanding of Kant's thought, obscured as it is by Kant's typically difficult idiom. An invaluable companion to the Critique for both serious undergraduate and graduate students. |
