Annotation: 1920. Stuck, an American missionary and explorer, emigrated to the United States in 1885. He graduated from the University of the South and was dean of the Episcopal cathedral at Dallas, Texas. In 1905 he became archdeacon of the Yukon and spent the remainder of his life in Alaska. With three companions he accomplished the first ascent of Mt. McKinley. He traveled extensively throughout Northern Alaska. Alaskan geography and Eskimo customs are described in his books which include this volume.
