All of our bargain books are brand new, perfectly readable and represent a tremendous value! The bargain books are, however, publisher overstocks and remainders that TRW purchases at deep discounts. As a result, they may have a small mark through the UPC bar code or a small mark on the side of the book. This is simply to mark the books so they cannot be sent back to a publisher. Because of this, bargain books are non returnable to TRW unless they are damaged. Please consider this before ordering.

Annotation: In this gripping conclusion to The Forsaken Trilogy, Alenna’s loyalties are put to a test of life and death.

Alenna Shawcross and the others who escaped the wheel are working toward an all-out assault on the United Northern Alliance. The plan is to dismantle it from the inside—and Alenna is one of the few people who can access the organization’s inner sanctum. But when she returns to the home she has nearly forgotten, she encounters old friends and is swept into a secret plan that puts everything she loves in danger.

Knowing what is at stake for her and her friends, Alenna ventures into the heart of the treacherous UNA. She’s determined to bring them down, because freedom is the only choice. Or is it?

“Reminiscent of both The House of the Scorpion and The Hunger Games,” saysVOYA, who recommends The Defiant if you “enjoy dystopian tales with a touch of science.”

Alenna (The Forsaken; The Uprising) and fellow rebels implement their last assault on the tyrannical UNA. But when a betrayal endangers the entire rebel cause, Alenna struggles to preserve her ideals and hopes of democracy. Though predictable and with a tendency to moralize, this fast-paced conclusion to the dystopian trilogy delivers the intense action genre fans expect.

Gr 9 Up—Having escaped The Wheel, an island where would-be criminals are sent by the totalitarian UNA (what was once Mexico, the United States, and Canada), Alenna returns to her former home to infiltrate the government from the inside with the help of a rebel contingent. Battling new biological and mechanical weapons, the orphan teen will stop at nothing to dismantle the evil nation. For avid fans of the dystopian genre.
